Yesterday Jon Rothstein stopped by Cincinnati’s practice and had some good things to say about the current group of Bearcats. He was impressed with freshman point guard Logan Johnson, Tre Scott looks to be close to a double-double guy and Cane Broome will need to average 12-14 points per game for the Bearcats to have a chance to win the American Athletic Conference.
Rothstein also made a prediction on the starting five for this season.

Early prediction on Cincinnati’s starting five: Cane Broome, Jarron Cumberland, Rashawn Fredricks, Tre Scott, Nysier Brooks.
Honestly, I can’t argue with that prediction at all. I know a few players will make their cases for spots, but after losing Gary Clark, Kyle Washington and Jacob Evans three starting spots are clearly up for grabs and we still have the Broome/Justin Jenifer battle. I personally think Broome will be the guy this year because of his scoring punch and Jenifer will lead the second team along with sophomores Keith Williams and Trevor Moore. With Cincinnati getting some early games coming up within the next seven days, Cronin will have some early sample sizes to look at.
