Thank Mr. Worlds: A Preview for the Finals of Worlds 2018

After nearly a month of competition, the dust has finally settled. Twenty four teams have taken part in this lengthy battle to see which one of them will come out on top and be named as the new champions of the world.

That’s right.

The 2018 League of Legends World Championship is coming to an end. This competition is revered by the esports community as the biggest League of Legends event their franchise has to offer. It is on the same level as “The International” from Dota 2 and the many “Major” championships with respect to CS:GO. Only the best of the best compete in Worlds (the shortened moniker for the tournament), so anything that’s not within that level won’t be allowed to enter.

At the end of the tunnel stands only two teams: Fnatic and Invictus Gaming. One is a familiar power who has already won the title before and the other, unlike its rival, is a team that has only scratched the surface with a bit of success in general in this tournament (their only 2 appearances before this year equated to only a single quarterfinal berth). Let’s see how these two teams did in their road to the Finals.
