University of Cincinnati junior forward Trevon Scott (Townsend, Ga./McIntosh County Academy) has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Scott produced a pair of double-doubles, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 52.6 percent (10 of 19) from the field and 92.3 percent (12 of 13) from the free throw line leading Cincinnati (9-1) to a pair of wins last week and extending the Bearcats’ win streak to nine games.
Scott poured a career-high 22 points and matched a career best with 10 rebounds, shooting 5 of 8 shooting from the field and making 12 of 13 from the foul line in Cincinnati’s 78-65 win over Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, Dec. 4. He followed that performance with 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor with 10 rebounds, a block and a steal in a 62-47 win over Xavier in the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Scott leads Cincinnati this season in rebounds (6.8 per game) and ranks second in points (10.9). He has accounted for three double-doubles and served as the Bearcats’ top rebounder in seven of their 10 games.
Entering Monday, Scott ranked among The American’s leaders in defensive rebounds (sixth at 5.1), field goal percentage (eighth at .538), rebounds (ninth at 6.8), minutes played (tied for 19th at 30.5) and points (28th at 10.9).
