The Cincinnati Bearcats traveled to Starkville, MS to face No. 18 Mississippi State Bulldogs to see if they could get their 10th win of the season. The Bulldogs looked for revenge from the last season 65-50 loss at BB&T Arena.
First I want to say congrats to Tre Scott, graduating is huge and great job to Mick Cronin for making sure his player gets honored even though he couldn’t make the formal ceremony.
As #Bearcats walked across the stage & turned the tassels on their 🎓s, our own graduate received his @uofcincy diploma in a special ceremony this afternoon.
Congrats to Trevon Scott on earning his undergraduate degree in 3 1/2 years! pic.twitter.com/u4KFfBCTUr

It didn’t go as well as the Bearcats planned they were outrebounded 34-30, shot 21% from three and allowed the Bulldogs to shoot 61% from three. Foul trouble between Tre Scott, Keith Williams and Nysier Brooks didn’t help their cause. The refs called some rough calls, but shooting from three didn’t help also. Williams along with Jarron Cumberland tried to keep them afloat 15 and 21 points respectively, but it wasn’t enough for the well rounded attack by the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs had four players in double digits led by Lamar Peters with 14 points, followed by Q. Weatherspoon with 14, Tyson Carter with 12 and Reggie Perry with 12.
The Bearcats are now 9-2, but are 3-1 with UCLA coming to Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday if they can win that one they are staring 4-1 in the murders row five game stretch.
