What’s more is he’s not the sole bringer of bad news to offenses throughout the NFL. Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, Bernardrick McKinney, Kareem Jackson, and Johnathan Joseph round out the supporting cast as they made sure to keep their positions completely covered. Also, the addition of players such as Justin Reid and Tyrann Mathieu through the draft and free agency has only improved matters for the Texans.
With every side of the team put together, the Texans have done a 180-degree turn as they are refining the hopes of the city they represent towards one day attaining the Super Bowl. An 0-3 start left us distraught, but a 10-1 stretch since then has brought us aspirations of a bright future. However, this is the Texans I’m talking about, so knowing what happened the last time we were in a situation like right now (2012 anyone?), I’m still cautious over this team. Regardless, I’m still optimistic.
We are being led by a second-year quarterback who won the national championship as a collegiate darling and has a heap amount of potential.
We have a truly elite receiver that is unquestionably the successor to our first true superstar in Andre Johnson. What makes this even better is the fact that they virtually share the same name. Andre and DeAndre. C’mon man. That’s just beautiful.
And we have a kicker that has done nothing but bring us money each time he comes out to make 3 points. He leads the league in field goal attempts and conversions. Is that not good enough? Plus, he has a VERY long name.

Like I said, money.
And we have a heavily-feared defense who just happens to have a transcendent talent in J.J. Watt and another coming along the way (Clowney).
Save for the close games and poor coaching by our opponents, our turnaround has been nothing short of remarkable. As I said when I concluded the precursor to this entry, the odds of Houston reaching the postseason after starting off 0-3 was next to impossible. And yet, they’ve done it. Unlike back then when I said it was hard being a Texans fan, it is now great to be a Texans fan.
