I personally don’t ever feel bad for kickers when they miss, but this time was different for some reason. The Chicago Bears were hosting a playoff game for the first time in eight years and we down one with seconds to go. Everything was lining up for the Cody Parkey to win the game. Parkey attempted a 43 yard field goal twice, the first one was good, but Doug Pederson called a timeout before the attempt and then the second one was wide left hitting the crossbar twice before bouncing in front of the end zone. It looked like one of those kicker chokes moments again, but after seeing more footage Treyvon Hester got his hand on the kick which affected the result.
If it wasn’t for Chris Long tweeting it was blocked I would’ve never relooked at the play, but it was blocked and it just wasn’t meant to be for the Bears this year. I’m not a huge Mitch Trubisky fan, but he made enough plays to give his team to win the game. I don’t know if this play was a ball don’t lie situation, because I felt Wendell Smallwood scored on the two point conversion that was called no good.
Check out the links to the final kick.

Here’s a frame-by-frame look that clearly shows the Parkey kick was tipped by Treyvon Hester (Hester confirmed to @Bo_Wulf he tipped it). pic.twitter.com/6dOXui7Yyp
