Cincinnati Bearcats junior center Nysier Brooks has entered the transfer portal. Brooks would be a senior next year and if he decides to leave would have to sit out a year unless he was granted a waiver. With Mick Cronin going to UCLA, I could see why Brooks is weighing his options under new head coach John Brannen because of the style of play.
He averaged 8.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. If Brooks doesn’t return he will open up minutes for Mamoudou Diarra, possibly Laquill Hardnett, Prince Gillam Toyambi and Eliel Nsoseme. I wouldn’t be shocked if Brooks leave if the Bearcats check for a pick and pop style big man.
Good luck to Brooks no matter what he does in the future, will he follow in the steps of Rashawn Fredericks? Only time will tell!
