The Bengals Super Bowl LIV odds stayed the same after the draft says Sascha Paruk from SBD. Cincinnati remains a +10000 to +12500 longshot according to SportsBettingDime.com. This team hasn’t made it to the postseason since the 2015 season and you remember the Steelers game where they stole defeat from the jaws of victory. Getting rid of Marvin Lewis and adding Taylor was a start for a team that went 6-10 last season. I’m giving three reasons you shouldn’t expect a dramatic turn around in season one of the Taylor era.
Free Agency moves
The Bengals haven’t made much noise in free agency, we know they need help on defense especially at linebacker, safety and on the offensive line.
List of signees:
TE Tyler Eifert (resign)
LB Preston Brown (resign)
OG John Miller
CB B.W. Webb
CB Darqueze Dennard (resign)
TE C.J. Uzomah (resign)
DT Josh Tupou
OT Bobby Hart (resign)
DE Kerry Wynn
Of the nine signings none of them make a big splash, you can argue that signing Bobby Hart hurt them more than it helped. If Eifert and Brown can stay healthy it should help both sides of the ball because of their playmaking ability, but that is a big if. I like the resigning of Uzomah and Dennard for the tight end and cornerback groups. They make a couple of solid moves, but with a ton of big free agents out there to be had at safety and linebacker and they made no plays at true game changers.
