Next week will be a big week for junior guard Jarron Cumberland. He has put his hat in the ring for a chance to play in the NBA and he was invited to the NBA G League Elite Camp from May 12-14. A strong showing will give Cumberland a shot at the NBA Combine May 15-19. If he can get a combine invite it would allow more executives and coaches to evaluate him before the May 29th deadline.

University of Cincinnati rising senior Jarron Cumberland (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington High School) has been selected to participate in the inaugural NBA G League Elite Camp, May 12-14, at Quest Multisport in Chicago.
The 6-foot-5 guard is one of 40 draft hopefuls along with 40 top prospects from the NBA G League’s 2018-19 season to earn an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front office executives. The event will also continue to give top NBA G League prospects from the previous season a chance to be evaluated.
The two groups of athletes will participate separately in five-on-five games and strength and agility drills. The NBA G League players will attend the first two days of the NBA G League Elite Camp and the 2019 NBA Draft prospects will participate in the second and third days. There will be no overlap between the draft-eligible athletes and the NBA G League players on the second day.
A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the 2019 NBA Draft Combine based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp. The NBA Draft Combine will be held May 15-19 in Chicago.
Cumberland announced his decision to submit his name for consideration in the 2019 NBA Draft on April 20. New NCAA rules allow Cumberland to sign with an NCAA-certified agent and gain feedback while maintaining the opportunity to return to Cincinnati for his senior campaign. Cumberland has until May 29 to decide whether to remain in the draft or return to school.

He finished the season listed among the league leaders in eight categories, including points, assists, three-point shooting percentage, three-pointers made, free throw shooting percentage, assist-to-turnover ratio and minutes played.
