Thank you God for putting me In this position. Without my Dad, family, friends and coaches none of this would be possible. I am so very grateful for everyone that has supported me and stuck with me since Day 1. This upcoming season I will be a Cincinnati Bearcat 🐾❤️🖤 pic.twitter.com/dSe6IUVsPy

It was made official today that the Cincinnati Bearcats added 4 star shooting guard Zach Harvey to the 2019 class. It has been rumored for awhile that Harvey was coming on board and today it has been made official.
The 6’5″ guard is a well rounded player that can score from anywhere on the court. He also marks the highest rated recruit that John Brannen has landed during his short stay with Cincinnati.
He chose UC over Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and others.
I added some highlights below, feel free to check them out. I look forward to covering Harvey’s career in Clifton.

Per GoBearcats:
Zach Harvey has signed a scholarship agreement to attend the University of Cincinnati and play basketball for the Bearcats head coach John Brannen has announced. He will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2019-20 season.
A 6-foot-5, 185-pound guard from Topeka, Kansas, Harvey originally reclassified to the 2020 class in September 2018 before recently reverting to the 2019 class. As a 2020 prospect Harvey was tabbed a four-star prospect by 247Sports.com (No. 48) and Rivals.com (No. 50). Harvey was listed as the ninth-best shooting guard in the nation for the 2020 class by 247Sports.com.
“We would like to welcome Zach to the University of Cincinnati,” Brannen said. “I’ve had the opportunity to evaluate Zach closely during the last several years on the AAU circuit as well as with USA Basketball. He brings the length, athleticism and play making ability we look for in guards for our system.”
Harvey attended Prolific Prep Academy in Napa, California, during the 2018-19 season. He averaged 16.5 points, 4.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds through 11 games before an ankle injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. The squad posted a 29-7 record, advancing to the semifinals of the Grind Session National Championship.
Last summer, Harvey played on the Under Armour Circuit for KC Run GMC, averaging 16.3 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 36.7 percent from three-point range.
Harvey earned class 4A-II all-state honors from both the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle as a junior after helping lead Hayden High School in Topeka to the state championship in 2017-18. He averaged 23.1 points and scored a game-high 34 points with six three-pointers in the state championship game.
Harvey also participated in the 2016 USA Basketball Junior National Team October minicamp and 2017 USA Basketball Men’s U16 National Team training camp.
Mike Bohn’s statement about the Harvey signing:
“After a thorough review of the background and character of prospective University of Cincinnati men’s basketball student-athlete Zach Harvey, he signed a grant-in-aid agreement to enroll for the summer term at UC. Zach’s behavior two years ago while a 16-year old was not representative of the standards to which we hold our current student-athletes, but during a recent on-campus visit, he took full ownership of his actions without making any excuses.
“Zach recognizes it is a privilege to be a student-athlete at UC and it’s our expectation he will be an upstanding member of our campus community. We are working with Zach on a plan to ensure continued personal development along with his success as a student-athlete. We will hold him accountable to this process and work to evaluate his progress. He is aware of these expectations and accepts he will be held to an even higher standard than his peers and there will be zero tolerance for any behavior during his time at UC which is inconsistent with our department’s guiding principles. Zach is committed to earning the trust of his teammates, coaches, fellow students and athletics staff.”
