Bearcats bye week check in: Offense

Tight End = B-

Tight End is another deep position group that I thought before the season would really break out, but to this point in the season has been rather quiet. As with the Ridder breakdown, and when we get to the wideouts, a portion of the lack of output could have something to do with play-calling and that tough schedule to start, but it’s still something that needs worked out. Josiah Deguara is the leader of the group and a Ridder go to target, Deguara is second on the team with 298 yards receiving, first on the team in receptions with 21 and has four touchdown grabs.

Aside from Deguara the unit of Josh Whyle, Leonard Taylor, and Bruno Labelle have COMBINED for five catches on the season. Yes, the latter two mentioned are bigger guys who see additional action blocking and Whyle has been a special teams contributor, but I would have thought with his high ranking and production out of local LaSalle high school that we would have found more opportunities for him in the passing game.
