University of Cincinnati junior center Chris Vogt (Mayfield, Ky./Graves County HS/Northern Kentucky) was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Vogt averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while shooting 71.4 percent (15 of 21) from the field in a pair of Cincinnati overtime wins last week.
Vogt recorded a career-high 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds in Cincinnati’s 81-77 overtime victory over Valparaiso on Monday, Nov. 25 in the third-place game of the Paradise Jam. He then tallied 14 points – all after halftime – with five rebounds and a season-high three blocks in the Bearcats’ 72-65 overtime win against UNLV on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Fifth Third Arena.
The transfer from Northern Kentucky enters the week ranked fifth in the nation and first in The American, shooting 71.2 percent (37 of 52) from the field this season. He has scored in double figures in six consecutive games. For the season, Vogt ranks second on the team, averaging 13.1 points to go with 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.
