The Cincinnati Bearcats traveled to Wichita, Kansas to face American Athletic Conference rival the Wichita State Shockers. Cincinnati had trouble getting to Wichita because of plane troubles the night before. Would Cincinnati be able to get their fifth win a road?
The first half was a half of runs for both teams, but by the end of the half Cincinnati was up 41-35. Chris Vogt picked up two fouls, along with five points. Keith Williams and Tre Scott led the way with eight points a piece. They got a huge lift off the bench from Mamoudou Diarra and Jaevin Cumberland, Diarra had five points and three rebounds and Jaevin had six points off of two threes.
In the second half Cincinnati controlled the game most of the final twenty minutes. Jar. Cumberland scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half including a game tying shot and go ahead free throw. Williams finished with 17 points. Scott finished with a team high 11 rebounds. Vogt finished with 12 points.
Cincinnati shot 55% from the floor and 78% from the line. They lost rebound battle 31-28, but they won the turnover battle 10-9.
Cincinnati is now 15-7 overall and 8-2 in the AAC. They play against UConn next on Sunday at Noon on CBS Sports Network.
