This morning #BearcatNation received great news as head coach Luke Fickell is staying in Cincinnati after having an interview with Michigan State with their recently vacant position. Those close to the situation always knew Michigan State was one of the school that Fickell was legitimately interested in and reports stated it was Fickell’s job to lose.
Reports stated Michigan State offered a deal ranging five to six year at a total ranging $25/30 million. That’s a lot of coin, but Cincinnati is turning the corner. Pros of the AAC is they are top tier team and Michigan State has an uphill battle right now in the Big Ten with now stacked Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State are right now.
With Fickell returning for his fourth season, you can’t say he isn’t wired differently than the other coaches that have been in at UC the last 15 years.
Good luck Michigan State, TFON and #BearcatNation wish you the best!
Sources: Luke Fickell has decided to stay at Cincinnati. After interviewing for Michigan State on Sunday and talking it over with his family, he elected to stay put.
