Bearcats 2020 football schedule released

Today the 2020 schedule for the Cincinnati Bearcats football team was released. A team that won 11 games last season will face Nebraska on the road in the non-conference, that is their marquee game in non-AAC play.

They have Memphis and Houston at home this year and UCF and Temple on the road. These are the four AAC games I’m highlighting.

Which games are circled on your calendar?

Per GoBearcats:

The University of Cincinnati’s 2020 football schedule was released Tuesday by American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco.

Seven of UC’s opponents made the postseason in 2019 while three, Austin Peay, Miami (OH) and Memphis, won conference titles.

The Bearcats are coming off a second-straight 11-win season in 2019along with an American Athletic Conference East Division Championship and the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl title. UC, which ended the season ranked 21st in all three major polls, won 11 games for only the fourth time in the program’s 132 seasons and had back-to-back 11-win seasons for only the second time in school history.

UC will open 2020 with a pair of home weeknight games, playing Austin Peay on Thursday, Sept. 3 and Western Michigan on Friday, Sept. 11 on an ESPN network. The Bearcats head to Oxford for the 125th Battle for the Victory Bell against Miami (OH) on Saturday, Sept. 19 and close out nonconference play with a game at Nebraska on Saturday, Sept. 26, the first matchup between the two teams since 1906.

The Bearcats open defense of the 2019 AAC East Division crown against USF on Saturday, Oct. 3 in Nippert before heading on the road for games at Tulsa (Oct. 17) and SMU (Oct. 24).

UC will return home for a three-game conference homestead, its first since 2001, facing defending AAC Champions Memphis (Oct. 31), Houston (Nov. 7) and a Thursday-night matchup versus ECU (Nov. 12).

Road games at UCF on Nov. 21 and at Temple on Nov. 28 close out the regular season. UC will close the season with back-to-back road games for the first time since 2015.

The Bearcats return 16 of 22 starters on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, 55 letterwinners and 13 of the team’s top 15 tacklers from 2019.
