Today it was reported that the American Athletic Conference will stick with eight conference games and up to four out of conference games. A lot of the power five schools have went to only in-conference play and made it 10 games. The SEC, Big Ten and Pac 12 have went fully in conference with 10 games. The ACC is doing 10 games in conference and allowing one out of conference game, while the Big 12 is doing nine in conference games and allowing one out of conference game.
American approves scheduling format of 8 conference games plus as many as 4 nonconference games, sources told @Stadium. 1st reported by @RossDellenger

I personally would’ve liked if the AAC went 10 in conference games and allowed schools to try to get two out of conference games, but who am I? If most schools especially Cincinnati can land an ACC and a Big 12 opponent that would be huge especially after losing out on playing Nebraska (Big Ten),
Stuff is subject to change so we will see how this pans out for the conference, but in this scenario I’m rooting for an ACC and a Big 12 opponent.
My dream scenario. FCS cancels football entirely. MAC goes to conference only. We substitute Louisville, Pitt, WV, and Texas for our OOC portion of the schedule. This Bearcats team is STACKED and was SO looking forward to this season. So typical of Cincinnati sports, our Bearcats in particular. Shades of Kenyon Martin injury, 2009 TX/NE game, and BK leaving before the Sugar Bowl. GO BEARCATS!
That would be great, but as of now UC will just be playing 11 games with Nebraska being the only game not played.. hopefully they can get another P5 team to replace them, but as of now it seems not as likely as we would like.
Alas, I believe you are right. I did say it was my dream scenario. I realize that would mean all the above would be away games for us, but I believe this team could really be special. Keep up the good work J.T. I appreciate what you guys are trying to do here.
If your dream scenario happened it would be great and I’m here for it lol. Thanks a lot and I appreciate you check out the site, we are trying to make it an enjoyable click!
