After the first coaches poll came out last week tabbed the Bearcats as No. 22 behind AAC foe UCF who grabbed No. 21 fans and even Luke Fickell felt slighted.
Here's what @CoachFick had to say when I informed him UC checked in at #22 in the Coaches Poll, one spot behind UCF. #Bearcats pic.twitter.com/p3SjzsZ2rp

This was before the Big Ten and Pac 12 punted their seasons due to CoVid issues (along with the MAC and other conferences). If you take out the teams that won’t play this year the Bearcats move up to No. 14 in that particular poll.
With the talent that this team has if they are able to play this fall they will be able to make some noise. The Coaches Poll didn’t show the Bearcats love, but some of the big networks and publications did. They came in the highest on Sports Illustrated at No. 12, followed by USA Today at No. 16, ESPN at No. 17 and CBS Sports at No. 18.
I personally think with the talent returning from this team they should be ranked in the Top 20, which everybody, but the Coaches Poll did. I’m glad some networks and publications are showing this team some love, they deserve it, now we just got see if they get to play.
