J.T.’s defensive game balls for 55-20 season opening win over Austin Peay

We gave out our offensive game balls, now it is time to address the defensive side of the ball. No. 13/14 Cincinnati Bearcats handled the Austin Peay Governors 55-20 at Nippert Stadium and the defense played apart in the domination of the game.

The Bearcats gave the Governors a field goal on the opening drive, but besides a good drive in the third quarter and getting a lot of freshman and sophomores in the fourth quarter they held them in check. The Governors did amass 353 total yards, went 7-of-19 on third down and 4-of-5 on fourth down. The conversion rates were fairly high, but they were a team playing with nothing to lose. This group had one sack, 9.0 tackles for loss and one interception.

Let’s see who got game balls on the defensive side!
