Predictions –
This season is never going to feel like a normal season, no fans at the games, the threat of COVID always hanging over everyones heads. With that in mind it becomes very difficult to predict if UC will even be able to finish a full season or how many games get played so I don’t even want to take a stab at trying to guess a win-loss record, instead I’ll just talk about the season as a whole.
Starting Lineup – David DeJulius PG / Mika Adams-Woods SG / Keith Williams SF / Rapolas Ivanauskas PF / Chris Vogt C
I would guess that this season starts a lot like the one last year. We have a lot of roster turnover and with that brings a lot of growing pains. The non conference consists of only five games this year, but in those five are Xavier, Top 15 Tennessee and Georgia. They are going to have to try and gel quickly to be as competitive as they want to be in these early season games, but I think they really find their stride by the time we get into the middle and end of the conference slate. The American schedule this year has them playing every team twice and most early season projections have the Bearcats picked to finish 4th. I predict they finish better than that, mainly because I don’t believe in Memphis. Houston, SMU, UC will be your Top 3 in the conference when its all said and done.
No matter what, this season is going to be interesting and I will personally just enjoy however many UC games we are given this season and let’s hope it all builds toward the NCAA tournament returning and watching our Bearcats make a run. The world needs March Madness. Enjoy the season hoop fans.
