It was reported by Logan Lusk that senior defensive end Michael Pitts has entered the transfer portal. Pitts was a defensive staple on the 2018 and 2019 teams, but with the Bearcats playing more 3-3-5, Pitts has been an old man out.

Pitts was an integral part of the Bearcats defense in 2018 and 2019, but has seen limited playing time in 2020 amid defensive formation shifts.
Pitts had 64 tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks during the 2018 and 2019 seasons playing in 26 games. He played in five games this season tallying 10 tackles and .5 tackles for loss.
