Friday afternoon the Cincinnati Bearcats got a big commitment from four star defensive tackle Derrick Shepard. Shepard stands 6’3″, weighs 295 pounds and attends Archbishop Alter High School in Dayton, Ohio. The member of the 2022 class is now the highest rated defensive recruit in program history. The Dayton native had offers from Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Duke, Indiana, Michigan State and more. Cincinnati now has five commits in the 2022 class, but none are bigger than Shepard.

Fickell, Freeman and the crew land another great Ohio commit. Per 247Sports composite, he is ranked 256nd in the nation, the 22nd ranked defensive tackle in the nation and 10th best player in Ohio.
