Previewing the Bearcats opponent in the AAC Championship Game: Tulsa Golden Hurricane

Running the ball will be T.K. Wilkerson and Deneric Prince. Wilkerson leads the team in scores with four to go with 317 yards on the year and Prince leads the team in yards with 356 to go with his two touchdowns. Corey Taylor will also get touches out of the backfield, and he is no slouch himself, reaching the end zone twice and also eclipsing 300 (329) yards on the year. Tulsa is not shy to give any of the three guys carries depending on who is finding success. All three running backs have at least 60 carries. (injuries in the backfield have played a part in the success of the backfield as well)

Out wide for Zach Smith will be Keylon Stokes and Josh Johnson. Johnson and Stokes have been battling back and forth for the team lead in yards and they both average around 70 yards receiving a game. Stokes currently has 508 yards and two touchdowns and Johnson has 484 yards and a team leading six touchdowns. They both have a team lead 35 receptions as well. If UC is able to slow down even one of these guys they can make it a long night for the Tulsa offense and their ability to move the ball down the field.

This has been a game that’s felt like a long time coming, in the sense that Tulsa should have been played back in October and has been pushed back multiple times, but in the larger scope it’s UC hosting an AAC title game. It is Luke Fickell doing what he was brought here to do. He has recruited his a** off, built this program from the ashes of Tommy Tuberville in now has them in front of the throne and the only thing left to do is go out and take it. Bearcats roll big Saturday in front of the first real crowd of the season to become champions and book their NY6 bowl. 42-14, Go Cats!
