The Bearcats football club found out some very unfortunate news on Tuesday as 4 star cornerback Mumu Bin-Wahad decommited from the University of Cincinnati due to coaching changes. This news comes after defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman decided to leave the program and accept the Notre Dame defensive coordinator job. Mumu was one of the first commitments in the 2022 class for the Bearcats and played a key role in bringing multiple recruits here to the University of Cincinnati Football team. Mumu did leave it on the table that he could come back to the University of Cincinnati, but right now he wants to make sure he is making the right decision for him.
The Bearcats defense has been on the rise since DC Marcus Freeman took over and has shown the nation that they can run with the big dogs and hold exceptional defensive rankings. This team will not be going anywhere and will be hiring another great DC. With the Freeman news though there could be a lot of changes upcoming for the recruiting classes. The Bearcats class even with the decommitent still have the number 1 ranked class in the AAC and are 6th nationally.
We wish Mumu the best of luck in the future no matter where he goes and we hope that he finds happiness in the future! Thank you, Mumu for a great start to the recruiting class and we look forward to your future!
