TFON talks with 3 star CB Dylahn McKinney about his UC offer

JS: How does it feel to get an offer from the University of Cincinnati?

DK: It feels good! Cincinnati is on the rise! Especially after the year they just had.

JS: Have you been able to have any conversations or build connections with any of the UC staff?

DK: I have spoken and been building with Coach (Perry) Eliano (Cornerbacks Coach).

JS: Over the last year it has been hard on players to put in the work they normally do what have you done since the pandemic to get better and be ready for the next level?

DK: I train with a mask on with some of the best trainers in the nation (Clay Mack, Flight), continuous work on my footwork and go against some of the best receivers in the country consistently.

JS: What is one part of your game that you would like to improve on this year before taking the next step in your future?

DK: Basically route recognition, my transitions and continuously being disruptive in the middle of the route.

JS: Cincinnati is known for their defense and has had some of the best corners in the nation the last couple of years, tell me what it would mean for you to continue the tradition?

DK: It would mean a lot considering my goal is to be the best and play in the NFL. To be considered in that conversation means that I am on the right road.

JS: Do you model your game after anyone in the NFL or a role model in general?

DK: I mix a little Jalen Ramsey, Marshon Lattimore and Stephon Gilmore.

JS: Have you been able to see the campus on zoom or do you plan on seeing the Cincinnati campus at some point when the pandemic is done?

DK: Yes, I plan on seeing the campus soon.

JS: Can you tell me how much the sport of football means to you and why you chose to play it?

DK: It’s everything, it’s my passion and I choose to play it solely because I love it.

JS: One final question, how has the whole recruiting process been for you since the pandemic started? I know it probably is kind of hard not being able to do the normal standard recruiting process, but what are your emotions how has the process been, etc.?

DK: It’s cool, I do what I can with the time I have. It’s an important process because it involves my future so I’m good with it.
