The No. 7 seed Cincinnati Bearcats faced the No. 10 Memphis Tigers in the first round of the AAC Tournament. The Bearcats finished the season with on a three game winning streak would they be able to keep up the momentum?
The Bearcats had great second and third quarters to lead them to a first round victory. Ilmar’I Thomas led the way with 30 points on 10-of-17 from the field and 12 rebounds. Caitlyn Wilson scored 11 points, while going 3-of-11 from three. Milan Schimmel had a nice game with 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Arame Niang also filled the stat sheet with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Thomas did AAC Player of the Year things in the victory and the Bearcats life to fight another day. Four Bearcats scored double digits today and as a whole they shot 45.0% from the field. They held Memphis to 13.3% from three and also caused 17 turnovers.
