This afternoon the Bearcats Woman’s Basketball program landed a massive recruit when they got a commitment from former Louisville forward Malea Williams. Williams is a six-foot-four forward from Georgetown, Kentucky. Williams appeared in 8 games (two in the NCAA Tournament) for the Cardinals last season where she recorded 12 points, 2 blocks in her 20 minutes of action throughout the season. This is another big pickup for the Bearcats as Williams gives them more size and athleticism to pair up with a young core already in the fold. She will play a big role for the Bearcats in the future as her height and ability to score the ball will play a big role for her success here in Cincinnati. Coach Michelle Clark-Heard has done a fantastic job at bringing in recruits to the University of Cincinnati since the season ended as they landed forward Taziah Jenks last week after losing two big influences in the program when Ilmar’I Thomas transferred to UCLA and Addaya Moore transferred to Western Illinois.

Williams will look to play a big role for coach Clark-Heard and the Bearcats this season as she will still have four years of eligibility left with the extra year due to Covid-19. #BearcatNation should be excited for Williams to come play at Fifth Third Arena especially after playing a season and making a Final Four this season with the Cardinals she brings leadership, experience and many more great qualities to Clifton. The Bearcats are happy to welcome Malea Williams to their family!
