The Cincinnati Bearcats have one the scariest defenses in all of college football. There #Noflyzone is one of the big parts of the team’s success over the last couple of years. They’ve gotten exceptional play out of linebackers Jarell White and Darrian Beavers in an amazing season for the defense. The Bearcats did lose their leader and all-around linebacker Jarell White to the draft though so where does that lead Darrian Beavers? Beavers was granted another year of eligibility and decided to use it for what will more than likely be his last year as a Bearcat. Beavers has stepped into a huge role since transferring from UConn and has made a lot of big plays for the defense. Last year Beavers had 38 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and two interceptions. Beavers will be looking to step into White’s role and lead this defense to another great season.
Beavers put on 30 pounds over the offseason and is ready to take on the next step. Beavers was everywhere during the Spring Game and was vocal on the defense. He made plenty of plays all over the field and seems to be involved in pretty much every play. The Bearcats will look to get great play out of him and the linebacker core in Ty Van Fossen, Joel Dublanko, and the young guys Deshawn Pace and Jaheim Thomas. The Bearcats will have plenty of options on defense and this seems to be the year where they will need everyone to step up to make a run at the College Football Playoff. The all of the talent on defense including Beavers it will help the Bearcats achieve those goals. Beavers will look to finish his Bearcats career with a bang!
