JS: How was your visit to Cincinnati?
WT: My visit to Cincinnati was great. I definitely felt welcomed and would be more than happy to come back down the road.
JS: Were you surprised that you received an offer from UC?
WT: I was more blessed than surprised because I work for these moments day in and day out. Just blessed because coach Miller doesn’t offer just anybody he has to actually know your background, know you as a person it goes much deeper than basketball, but I’m blessed because coach believes in me and I check off all the list of things he requires in a student athlete.
JS: Being a North Carolina kid, have you built a relationship with Miller prior to your visit?
WT: Yes, I have met coach a few times, but this was my first time really having a long deep conversation with him and my family because how young I was when I initially met him, but it went exceptional.
JS: Who else has been showing you interest as of late?
WT: NC State, Tennessee, Louisville, Georgetown, Florida State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Virginia, Texas, Illinois, Boston College, ECU and Pitt just to name a few. I have offers from UC, USF, Texas A&M and Hampton.
JS: How would you describe your game? Do you have players you try to mimic or take certain traits from?
WT: I would describe my game as a big guard that can do everything, steps up on the defensive end with a killer mentality, can finish at the rim with strength and shoot the ball at a good rate from the outside.
I like Jaylen Brown, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jayson Tatum the most and I try to take things from their game.
JS: Being a member of the class of 2023 do you have a time you want to commit by?
WT: If things go as planned I would like to commit on December 18th, 2022, it is a special date to me and my family.
