Bearcats Basketball has been busy this off-season as they have fired and hired a new coach, found a whole new staff and went digging through the transfer portal to find some elite talent. The Bearcats found out some unexpected news though as one of their main guys and senior leader from last year Keith Williams has entered the transfer portal. Williams was one of the bright spots last year for the Bearcats as he averaged 14.3 points a game and played over 600 minutes for the Bearcats team that had a lot of question marks last year. He also eclipsed over 1000 career points for UC as he led the young squad to an American Conference Finals to finish off his Bearcat career. Williams was a leader for this team when everything was going down and stepped up big time to keep this team moving. He announced when the season ended that he hired an agent and was pursuing the 2021 NBA draft, but apparently had a change of plans as the news broke today that he would enter the portal. Keith Williams will have to go through the NCAA to get a waiver wherever he signs due to him signing with an agent, but if he does get it the all-conference star could put up big numbers for any team. The Bearcats have no more scholarships left after the major frenzy they went through the last couple of weeks, but it will be very interesting to see where Keith Williams will head to play next year!
We wish Keith the best on his next journey and thank him for everything he has done for #BearcatNation!

Note: If the agent Williams signed with is certified he can return with no problem, doesn’t need a waiver he beat the July 1st deadline.
