Tonight former UC hoops superstar Jacob Evans announced he had signed with the Eilat Basketball Club, a professional basketball club in Israel. Evans was drafted 28th overall in 2018 by the Golden State Warriors after having a stellar junior season at Cincinnati. In 2018 Evans averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 blocks in 30.8 minutes per game. These statistics were enough to land Jacob on the First Team All-AAC in 2018.

Evans spent the first two years of his career with the Golden State Warriors bouncing between the Warriors and their G-League affiliate the Santa Cruz Warriors. Evans has spent time with the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves since getting drafted in 2018. He was a key asset in a big trade in 2020 that netted the Warriors Andrew Wiggins for D’Angelo Russell and Evans was also included in that deal. This trade was a pretty big deal at the 2020 NBA trade deadline as it teamed up superstar D’Angelo Russell with Karl Anthony Towns.
Evans becomes the second player in the last week to take his talents overseas, as he joins former teammate Jarron Cumberland who signed with Aris Thessaloniki Basketball Club last week. Evans also becomes the second former Warrior top pick in recent years to take the route of playing professionally overseas as the Warriors 2020 second rounder pick Nico Manning announced a few days ago he was going to play professionally overseas back in his home country of Italy.
The Front Office News staff would like to congratulate Jacob Evans on his next step in his professional playing career. #BearcatNation will be continuing to follow along on your journey and career!
