The rise of Alec Pierce

Pierce not only has caused havoc against a Big 10 defense, but he gave the Irish, one of the best defenses in the country, nightmares as he was a mismatch the whole game and Ridder and the Bearcats took full advantage of it.

After the Bearcats 52-3 win over Temple where Pierce finished with six catches, 93 yards and another touchdown, I asked Desmond Ridder about the connection and his relationship with Pierce and how he has preformed the last three games where he has hauled in 17 passes, for 323 yards and three touchdowns.

“Yeah, no me and “AP” have a great connection, you know ever since he has got here, He came in with Ben Bryant, and you know me and Ben are great friends, off the field we were just always together, were together out golfing, together working out every time. So you know, we have a connection ever since he has been here. He’s a guy I have trust in, he’s a guy who can just go up and get the ball, I mean when you throw it up we’ve just had a great connection over the past year’s and it has just shown up in games”.

Pierce has turned a lot of heads and is looking to raise his draft stock the rest of the season, as many people are starting to take notice on what kind of player Alec Pierce is, but even better is the person he is off the field as well. Pierce is looking to have a monster finish to this 2021 season, as the Bearcats are now in uncharted waters as they are ranked the highest they have ever been in program history as they sit #3 in the latest AP poll.

The Bearcats welcome UCF to Nippert Stadium tomorrow at 12 pm. A rivalry matchup that has drawn a lot of attention the last few years, but the Knights have lost a lot of key players due to injuries, (Dillion Gabriel, Isaiah Bowser, Jaylon Robinson, Kalia Davis and Ricky Barber) are all out for Saturday’s contest with the Bearcats. On the other hand, look for Pierce to have another big game versus UCF as this is a high energy game to kick off Week 6 of college football.

The Bearcats are looking to continue to take the college football world by storm as they will have the College Football Playoff Trophy in attendance tomorrow when the Bearcats take on UCF, but will they be able to continue their dominant start and hopefully bring it home for good later this season?
