Tonight the Bearcats we’re looking to make it 5 in a row, and 10 of their last 11 as they traveled to Tulsa to continue AAC play, as they looked to move up in the AAC standings
The starters for the Bearcats tonight were Emme Madden, Maria Mallon, Payton Frederick, Maria Tobergte, Abby Walker, Shannon Williams and Kailea Carrier.
Set 1- The match went back and forth as this set had multiple ties and lead changes all the way as this set was tied at 13. The Bearcats then found some momentum after a Tulsa service error and Kailea Carrier kill, the Bearcats found themselves leading 16-14. The Golden Hurricanes on the other hand fought right back and both teams traded point for point until the Bearcats jumped out to a 20-18 lead. Tulsa rallied back as they responded with a 3 point swing to give them a 21-20 lead, before the Bearcats flipped that momentum behind kills from Abby Walker, Kailea Carrier, and Sarah Norcom, the Bearcats propelled a late 3-0 run to finish the set after being tied at 22, to give the Bearcats a big 25-22 victory in Set 1.
Set 2- The Bearcats were looking to keep that momentum going in Set 2, but they found themselves in a early 4-1 hole, the Bearcats rallied back to make it a 6-5 game before Tulsa opened the doors a little as the Golden Hurricane jumped out to a 9-6 lead. The Bearcats then trailed 17-13 after a kill by Adria Oliver, that sparked some momentum for the Bearcats, that was followed with a Emme Madden service ace to cut the Golden Hurricane lead to 3, as the Bearcats trailed 17-14. After trailing 23-20 the Bearcats went on a 3 point swing to tie the match after two attacking errors from The Golden Hurricanes, and a kill by Mallon, and the Bearcats were right back trying to finish Set 2, where they ultimately fell 25-23 to tie the match up at 1 set a piece.
