The Bearcats are now 7-0 this season after defeating the Navy on the road last weekend. The Bearcats look to continue their dominance, as the #2 ranked team in the country. The Bearcat’s upcoming game against Tulane Green Wave is this Saturday at Yulman Stadium, tune it at 12 pm eastern standard time on ESPN2.
Tulane is ranked 11th in the American conference, with an overall record of 1-6. Their only win came against Morgan State. Tulane has been on a 5 game losing streak this season and hoping to bounce back from their bad start. Head coach Willie Fritz, who is Tulane’s head coach since 2016, is looking to get the defense ready to face a quarterback Desmond Ridder-led offense. The Green Wave average 31.9 points per game and 402.9 total yards per game. Quarterback Michael Pratt will be leading Tulane’s offense against UC’s Top 5 defensives. It will definitely be a challenge for Pratt, will see if he is up for the challenge. Pratt is 125-of-212 passing for 1,598 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. Tulane’s leading rusher is Cameron Camerall he will be looking to add to his rushing total this year of 352 yards on the season. Tulane’s leading receiver is tight end Tyrick James, who has 350 yards and 25 receptions on the season. James is also a red zone threat with three touchdowns on the year, he will be needed this Saturday. Tulane struggles in the kicking game, they are 2-of-5 on field goals this season.
The Green Wave defense hasn’t been able to put up much resistance this season as they give up 42.3 points per game and 493.9 yards per game. Teams tend to run and pass against this defense which bodes well for the Bearcats. Safety Macon Clark is their leading tackler with 45, he also has one interception, 3.0 tackles for loss and a sack. Second on the team in tackles is linebacker Darion Williams with 44. Their best pass rusher is defensive end JoJo Dorceus, he leads the team with 3.5 sacks. This unit hasn’t stopped a nose bleed and they shouldn’t clot up on Saturday.
The Bearcats odds to win according to ESPN is at 90.9%. Being that it will be a road game for Cincinnati there will be some adversity, but if they play right they should go to work in New Orleans. We look forward to the Saturday afternoon matchup.
