On Friday, former Bearcat running back Gerrid Doaks inked a future/reserves contract with the Miami Dolphins. Doaks spent majority of his rookie season on the Miami Dolphins practice squad, but the former Bearcat standout, looks to get a jumpstart to his career with the Dolphins ahead of the 2022 season, as the starting running back role looks to be up for grabs.
Doaks was the Dolphins 7th round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, where he came off a career best season where he rushed for 673 yards, seven touchdowns, while recording 14 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns. He is looking to go into the 2022-2023 season fighting for that starting running back spot, as Miami had a running back by committee as Myles Gaskin, Salvon Armstead and Malcom Brown all saw significant touches in the 2021 season at times.
Congrats to Gerrid!
