Justin Williams of the Athletic reported that Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Luke Fickell signed an extension through 2028 that gave him a bump from $3.4 million to $5 million. He also got his assistants pool a bump from $3.8 million to $5.2 million which is huge.
If you look at the current state of college football Fickell is still underpaid with the blank checks that other schools are writing, but Cincinnati has done a hell of a job to keep increasing his pay as well as his assistants before the Big 12 money hits. Fickell getting a $1.6 million raise while getting his assistants pool a bump of $1.4 million is a great, plus think about all of the upgrades the athletic department will be making in the near future.
This is a win for the University of Cincinnati.
