Per GoBearcats:
University of Cincinnati senior men’s basketball guard David DeJulius added another postseason honor Tuesday as he was named to the NABC’s All-District First Team.
DeJulius, who was also named to the AAC’s Third-Team last week, led the Bearcats with 14.5 ppg (ninth in AAC) and an 82.4 percent free-throw clip (sixth), scoring 20-plus points in 10 games. Seven of those came against AAC foes and another against NCAA four-seed Arkansas. His play amounted to a 4.5-ppg increase among several overall improvements from last year. In league play, he averaged 3.4 more ppg on plus-8.2-percent three-point shooting compared to the non-conference.
The Detroit native’s 12-for-12 free-throw performance against No. 6 Houston was one of six perfect outings on a dozen or more makes and the first since Sean Kilpatrick in 2012.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) was founded in 1927 by Forrest “Phog” Allen, the legendary University of Kansas men’s basketball coach. The organization also created what is now the Hall of Fame Classic, which Cincinnati played in November in Kansas City.
