Bearcats WR Nick Mardner named finalist for the Jon Cornish Trophy

Cincinnati wide receiver Nick Mardner was recently named one of five finalists for the Jon Cornish Trophy, which is given annually to the top Canadian in college football. 

The winner will be announced through Football Canada and the TSN Krown Gridiron Nation YouTube channel on April 19.

Mardner transferred from Hawaii to Cincinnati this winter and has participated in spring practice with the Bearcats. He totaled 46 receptions for 913 yards and five touchdowns at Hawaii in 2021. His impressive 19.9 yards per catch average ranked second in the Mountain West Conference and 10th in the nation. The Mississauga, Ontario native registered three 100-yard games, including a six-catch 110-yard, one-touchdown performance against Oregon State and a 139-yard outing versus UNLV.
