Alec Pierce gets selected 53rd overall in the NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts

Alec Pierce was one of the top players in this year’s draft. Pierce an exceptional and tall wide receiver was rising on NFL teams draft boards heading into this draft. had to wait a little longer than anticipated, but finally heard his name called Friday night, as he was selected 53rd overall by the Indianapolis Colts.

Pierce was Desmond Ridder’s top receiver and collected All-AAC Second-Team honors. Cincinnati’s first CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team honoree since 1997. Exceptional athlete who was named to The Athletic’s annual “Freaks” List by Bruce Feldman. Pierce ranks 15th in UC history with 1,834 career receiving yards, set career highs in receiving yards (867) and receiving touchdowns (8) in 2021. His 867 receiving yards are the 15th-highest in a single season at UC. Pierce will team up with new Colts quarterback Matt Ryan and a very talented offense in hopes of getting the Colts back into the playoffs.
