JS: How was your visit?
JW: Camp went great! I got to work with coach (Mike) Brown (wide receivers) which helped me learn some things to help me improve my game.
JS: Did the camp go as expected? How was the competition?
JW: It went well, I was able to show my route running abilities. I was amongst some good talent, it was a lot of good receivers at Nippert on Thursday, with it not being a crazy amount at my position I was able to get a lot of reps.
JS: What coaches have you built a relationship with on the staff?
JW: Me and coach Brown are building a nice relationship. He really likes my game a lot, he told me I was smoother than expected, which meant a lot to me. Coach (Darren) Paige (running backs) was the one who actually offered me, he’s been out to my school a few times already checking on me, that’s my guy. I love the recruiting coordinators as well.
JS: What other camps do you plan on hitting?
JW: My camp schedule is loaded this year before Cincy, I was at Ohio State. On the 5th, I’ll be at Notre Dame for a private camp, the 9th Michigan, the 12th Penn State, the 13th West Virginia, the 15th Maryland, the 17th Northwestern Mega camp, the 21st Louisville and the 25th Michigan State.
JS: Being a member of the 2024 class, what does it mean to have these types of opportunities heading into your junior year?
JW: To have these opportunities in front of me means the world. I literally been chasing this dream of playing big time college ball since the age of 7 in the front yard with my dad catching and learning how to run routes. I’m so humble, I just want to keep getting better everyday and prove to these schools I’m the guy they need on their roster. My work ethic is high, I’m always working to be the best, if it’s catching balls off my jug machine at home, running hills or just watching film learning how to read coverage. I just want to be the best me I can be and put my best foot forward.
