Here is what Pittman had to say about the camp and what stood out to him the most.
“I had a great time at the camp the atmosphere and energy were very high. The thing that stood out the most was how interactive the coaches were, they weren’t just off to the side watching they were talking to all the players and coaching them to be better.”
For Pittman, camp would be his first time on campus at the University of Cincinnati, and he was very impressed with Nippert Stadium to say the least.
“Yeah it was my first time on campus. The stadium was very nice and I like how it’s in the center of campus.”
For people who aren’t familiar with Nippert Stadium, the historic stadium sits right in the heart of the University of Cincinnati’s campus. What is even crazier is that just about anyone can get access to Nippert Stadium when the field isn’t being used, and is a very common hang out for students who are looking to get outside and make some friends on campus whether it’s to play some football themselves all the way down to a competitive game of spike ball with some friends.
We broke down Aris Pittman and what he brings to the table, Pittman a 6-foot-2 wide receiver, brings a lot to the table on the offensive side of the ball, as his athleticism is what stands out the most. I asked Pittman how he would describe his game, and what current/former players he models his game after.
“Me being long I’m a very good deep ball threat who can catch a dub off guard with a comeback or dig. I see myself as a Julio Jones, long with good ball tracking skills.” Jones, a 7 time pro bowler is a big time receiver who has dominated the league since entering the NFL back in 2011.
Pittman said he has been in contact with Bearcats wide receivers coach Mike Brown once before the camp, but is hoping to stay in touch with the Bearcats coaching staff through his journey.
Heading into his junior season, Pittman is looking to add some flashes to his game as he enters his first season at Ironton High School after recently transferring and has his sights set pretty high entering his first season at his new school. Pittman, also talked about what he is looking to improve to take his game to that next level as well.
“I have big plans for my junior year! I have been working hard this off-season and transferring to a new school makes me have to learn a whole new playbook. I plan to have a breakout season making every reception count. I want to have over 800 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Personally, I need to work on my releases and creating some more separation, but other than that my game is pretty solid. I’m very good at catching in traffic and on 3rd down situations.”
I asked Pittman what stood out the most to him during his time at Cincinnati and what he had to say about the environment that Luke Fickell has building up in Clifton should make a lot of Bearcats fans happy, to hear that the environment within the football program, after coming off their historical season where they fell short to Alabama 27-6 in the College Football Playoff this January back at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
We break down what is next for Pittman and what camps he will be attending next, as well his return to the University of Cincinnati.
“I have plans on going to camp at Louisville, Kentucky and maybe Virginia Tech. However, I would love to come back to Cincinnati, I had a great time at the camp and I would like to tour campus in the future.”
