4 star SG Parker Friedrichsen talks UC offer and visit

JS: Being offered by UC and then coming to visit what did that mean to you?

PF: It was cool. Coach (Mike) Roberts came to watch me play at my high school when they were in town playing Tulsa. I had a good game, dropping 40 points. Coach (Wes) Miller reached out soon after and offered me. The visit was great. I really didn’t know what to expect. I’ve never been to Cincinnati. Their facilities were top notch and the staff were all really great. It’s all going to get even better with them going to the Big 12, so that’s exciting.

JS: How was the visit?

PF: I saw the campus, the arena and all that. Hung out with coach Miller all day. It exceeded my expectations.

JS: Who on the staff have you developed a relationship with? And what has allowed that relationship to grow?

PF: Coach (Assistant) (Mike) Roberts and head coach (Wes) Miller are who I talk to the most. I really like coach Miller. He’s very smart and relatable. I could see myself playing for a coach like that.

JS: Do you plan on visiting during the season?

PF: We’ll see how it all plays out after my AAU season ends next month. I plan on knocking stuff out in the fall.

JS: Any visits to other programs lined up?

PF: I visited Xavier also when I was in town and I have my last junior year official to Davidson next week. After July, I plan to narrow it down to 5 or 6 schools, take all my senior year officials in the fall, hopefully decide and sign in November.

JS: How would you describe your game?

PF: I’m a playmaker. I can play the one or the two, most coaches tell me I’ll be a point guard in college and hopefully beyond. I can catch and shoot, shoot off the dribble, find the open guy and create for my teammates. I’m known as a shooter, but my offensive game has evolved beyond just that to scoring on all three levels consistently and I’m just a scoring playmaker who can shoot also.
