WVB: Payton Frederick joins the 1000 dig club

Yesterday, Bearcats senior libero Payton Frederick joined the 1000 dig club after recording 35 digs in the Bearcats two matches versus Illinois State and Dayton where she recorded 35 digs on the day as she anchored the Bearcats defense en route to two hard fought matches versus two very great teams.

Frederick, a Louisville, Kentucky native, started her colligate playing career at Western Kentucky, before joining the Bearcats in 2020 after her freshman season. She has recorded 615 digs in her Bearcat career to date and will look add on to the total as the season moves on. Recording 398 of those 1016 total digs her freshman season at Western Kentucky University where she was a Conference USA All-Freshman Team selection, and led Western Kentucky in digs, in 19 matches during her freshman campaign before deciding to transfer to Cincinnati following the 2018-2019 season.

Frederick joins elite company as she joined former teammate and outside hitter Maria Mallon as the latest Bearcats to join such elite company. She will look to continue to add to that total as the season goes forward as the senior libero will look to play a huge factor for coach Alvey and the Bearcats this season.

Congratulation to Payton, on joining such elite company during her collegiate playing career.
