The No. 22/23 Cincinnati Bearcats will open up their 2022 season this week when they head to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on the No. 19/23 Arkansas Razorbacks. The Razorbacks are a very tough team that brings a lot of pieces from last year’s team back. They led the SEC last year in rushing and led all Power 5 programs in rushing last year averaging 227.8 yards a game on the ground. The Razorbacks were one of the two teams (Ole Miss) with four ball carriers of 500+ yards rushing and had a terrific defense that gave up an average of 22.9 points last year in a very terrific SEC. They are going to be a tough matchup for the Bearcats to begin the season and will test the narrative of the coaching staff who has praised on next men-up mentality. Luke Fickell talked about what he wants this program to be known as and that’s a top ten program. He has talked about how this game will be a great challenge for the players and team to follow that narrative. So what will Arkansas bring to the table? sweet tea? or liquor?
