Players to Watch: No. 23 Cincinnati vs No. 19 Arkansas

Razorback Offense

KJ Jefferson, quarterback

We start with the main guy on the Arkansas offense and that’s QB1. Jefferson had a very impressive season last year and is looking to continue that momentum to the start of this year. Last year, he finished with 2,676 passing yards and 21 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions. Jefferson is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback that can use his legs and arm to beat the defense. Coach Fickell commented on Jefferson in the press conference before the game , “They led the SEC in rushing last year. He is very dynamic in what he does, he can throw the ball, he is a duel threat guy, not just to run, but to run you over.” Jefferson will be a guy the Bearcats will have to watch carefully especially since Jefferson was the leading rusher of the team who led the SEC in rushing last year.

Jadon Haselwood, wide receiver

The Razorbacks lost their number one receiving option last year to the draft in Treylon Burks and replaced him with Oklahoma transfer Jadon Haselwood. Haselwood put up some impressive numbers last year for the Sooners as he had 39 receptions for 399 yards and six touchdowns. Coach Fickell is very aware of Hasselwood’s skills and talked about him during the press conference, “He’s a really good player. We know he’s a dynamic player, but in what ways will they use him.” Haselwood will be a player to keep an eye on for this Week 1 matchup.
