Bearcats Offense
Josh Whyle, tight end
Josh Whyle is a guy that has shown his potential more than once and he is a guy that the Bearcats expect to take a major leap this year. Whyle had 332 receiving yards on 26 catches with six touchdowns, which ranked second on the team. Whyle talked about his expectations and what he wants to become this year for the Bearcats, “Last year, I don’t think I did that good of a job being a leader on the offense and the team. That’s one role I wanted to take going into this year. So, to be named captain, that meant a lot to me, for real.” This first game will give Whyle the chance to show leadership and get the offense rolling to begin the year.
Tyler Scott, wide receiver
The Bearcats lost two of their top weapons last year in Alec pierce and Michael Young, Jr. to the NFL this year. But, another weapon who had a breakout year last year in Tyler Scott returns and sets himself up as one of the top receiving options for the Bearcats this season. Scott had 520 receiving yards on 30 catches to go with five touchdowns. His 17.3 yards per catch average ranked second in the AAC. He will definitely have to be on the Razorback’s radar on Saturday.
