Bearcats Defense
Ivan Pace, linebacker
Pace had a dream Bearcat debut in Week 1. Pace was everywhere on defense as he finished with a team high 13 tackles, 3.5 tackle for losses and a sack. Pace was a veteran leader that the Bearcats were excited about when he got here. Pace proved that last week and has another chance to show that this Saturday against the triple option offense.
Malik Vann, defensive end
The Bearcats will need all of their defensive line to step up this week against the triple option offense. But the most important on the line might be the veteran Malik Vann who will be running that group and can help the group succeed and control the run better this week. K.J. Jefferson and company ran for over 250 yards in the game last week. The Bearcats will need to control the run game this week and it starts with the veteran presence of Vann.
In the end the Bearcats will not have as much pressure as they did last week in a tough SEC arena. But, The Bearcats should not get comfortable and underestimate the triple option offense. If the Bearcats can control the run the Bearcats should be able to cruise to their first win on the year and send the home crowd home happy!
