Bearcats wide receiver Tyler Scott was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week after his dominating performance over Indiana where he finished with ten catches for 158 yards and three touchdowns in the Bearcats 45-24 victory. Scott became the first Bearcat in program history to record three touchdowns in a half after he torched the Hoosiers secondary on Saturday. Scott is now sitting 8th in all of college football as he has 25 catches for 423 yards and five touchdowns, as he averages nearly 16.9 yards per catch. Scott is also now tied for 7th in all of college football with his five touchdown catches through the first four weeks.
The junior wide receiver continues to raise his stock as he has been a dominant weapon for Ben Bryant on the outside alongside Tre Tucker, as his ability to create separation and make a defender miss has been what makes Tyler Scott a very special player to watch.
Scott had a dominant performance vs a Preseason All-American in Tiawan Mullen, but Scott won the match up this time. For people who dont know Scott and Mullan have quite the relationship dating back to when Scott was being recrutied out of high school.
“It is crazy, he was my host when I actually went to Indiana. It was great going against him, he is a great talent I am blessed,” said Tyler Scott following the Bearcats 45-24 victory over Indiana.
Scott has become a key part for the Bearcats on offense and has done a great job of filling the shoes that were left behind as Alec Pierce left for the NFL and is looking to become the next dominant Bearcats receiver along with Tre Tucker to see their names climb up draft boards.
