This afternoon Bearcats junior Lauren Bastain was tabbed to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll after notching the equalizer late in the Bearcats 2-2 draw vs Memphis.
Bastain would record her first goal of the season after a failed save attempt would give the Bearcats a 2-2 tie in the 83rd minute. Bastain has been a dominant force for the Bearcats alongside Megan Smith, Ashley Barron and Vanessa DiNardo as the Bearcats look to keep the ball rolling as conference play kicks off.
“The whole time I was thinking not a doubt in my mind we are going to comeback, even when they scored their second goal we didn’t have to meet or anything, we got back on the line and said we are going to do this, it was very exciting,” said junior Lauren Bastain following the teams 2-2 draw Vs Memphis.
Bastain has missed some time early this season for the Bearcats, but is poised to have breakout second half as the Bearcats move into conference play as they look to make a run in the American Athletic Conference after being picked to finish 5th in the AAC preseason rankings.
The Bearcats will be back in action this Thursday when they travel to Orlando to take on UCF at 6 pm.
