This afternoon Carly Glendinning joined a group of five Bearcats on the AAC Weekly Honor Roll after he dominant weekend for the Bearcats as they entered conference play where they split the weekend series 1-1 with a 3 set to 1 victory over Tulane and 1-3 loss to Houston.
Glendinning led the team with a game high 17 kills and hit .300% on Friday night in the Bearcats victory over Tulane and the freshman outside was starting to really settle in for coach Molly Alvey and the Bearcats. Glendinning was starting to be a dominant force on the outside as the Saint Louis native was looking to make a case for AAC Freshman of the Year after her performance on Saturday. Glendinning’s .300% hitting percentage is a career high as well.
Glendinning would follow up a terrific performance with a career and team high 19 kills while hitting .280 in the teams 3 set to 1 loss vs Houston yesterday. The Freshman outside was looking to make a statement vs an AAC powerhouse in Houston where she seized her moment and solidified a spot on the AAC Honor roll.
Glendinning finished the weekend averaging 4.50 kills per set, 1.25 digs, 0.38 blocks in the Bearcats first weekend off conference play as the Bearcats now sit (3-9) (1-1 AAC) on the season.
Glendinning has really became a reliable hitter on the outside pin for Molly Alvey and the Bearcats and has developed a great relationship with setter Caroline Endres here to start their young Bearcat career. Along with Glendinning, who stands 6-foot-2 the Bearcats add Kailea Carrier who stands 6-foot-5, along with Avry Tatum and Abby walker who stand 6-foot-1 respectfully, and the Bearcats have one of the tallest group of girls at the net and their height has been difficult for opposing teams to hit around such huge blocks to start the season.
The Bearcats will be back in action this Friday at 6 pm when they welcome in SMU to Fifth Third Arena as they look to bounce back in the win column.
