Players to Watch: Cincinnati vs Tulsa

Bearcats Defense

Ja’quan Sheppard, cornerback

One of the question marks for the Bearcats will be the health of Corner back Arquon Bush. If Bush can not play then Ja’quan Sheppard will have to step up and play into that lockdown corner role. Sheppard will be going up against tough receivers in Stokes and Santana that will cause issues if they can’t be controlled.

Ivan Pace, linebacker

Ivan Pace has been on another level since joining the Bearcats and will have a tough matchup to open his AAC debut. Pace leads the Bearcats with 46 total tackles and has been a ball hawk for the Bearcats defense. Tulsa has one of the top offenses in all of the country and Pace will have to have another monster game to keep the Golden Hurricane in check.

This will be a tough game for the Bearcats and has been a tough game for the last couple of years. Tulsa has come to play every time the Bearcats are on the schedule and that should change on Saturday. The Bearcats and Golden Hurricane have tough offenses that are going to put up some points. This game could be a shootout and will be a very physical game to open up conference play. If the Bearcats can get the air attack going early on and establish the run this should be a great start for the Bearcats in their last year in the American Athletic Conference.
